Conversion
Conversion
Conversion is the pinnacle of business! Another good or meal sold, or another reservation booked, or another person helped, or another member joined. This is the whole point of everything else that you're doing in your business! And the truth is that there can be many barriers to conversion in your restaurant. Restaurants that everybody knows of close everyday. Businesses that have been open for 10 or 20 or 30 years still struggle with these problems. Problems like a lack of access to information, or the struggle to get your ideal customer to understand that your store meets their needs. Some businesses pour money into online ordering mechanisms only to see no conversion for the exact same reasons I listed above. People in business all understand that there's risk involved. But that has to mean when you make an investment, that you do things the right way!
Aside from your daily regulars, customers don't go to your business every day! This creates an issue for these older 10 and 20 year old businesses who have yet to update their channels of communication with their customers. Marketing is certainly a great way to start, but that can be expensive and cumbersome, so something that we suggest for our customers is to create a network to communicate with customers through their brand's experience. If you find new ways to serve your customer's needs, you need to be able to show them and motivate them to improve their lives immediately! And with a customer network, or relations manager, or proper social media presence, businesses have built new programs that should have flopped, such as breakfast times and happy hours.
Whether it's a reservation on an online order, a lot of the restaurant business has moved to online. Online has become a very competitive space, and little mistakes and barriers to conversion can be detrimental! Of course, as a smaller business you aren't going to create a system as efficient as the biggest restaurant chains in the world. And as a small grocery store, it can be really difficult to compete with the big three in Canada. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try! As much as a 1% conversion increase in your marketing efforts can make your campaigns 50% to 100% more profitable. It's worth discussing strategies on how we can make your native services more efficient, even if they only end up working half as well as the delivery apps.
